10 Dove Street

For my pre-birthday celebration, I treated some of my close CDU friends to dinner at 10 Dove street.

10 Dove St. is a small, quaint cafe located inside Sto. Nino Village in Banilad. The place is actually a small part of the house that is turned into a cafe. The place is perfect for romantic dates or lunch or dinner dates with a few friends.

The Menu consists of a few choices of soups, salads, sandwich, desserts and the usual beverages. For only Php 185, you get to have a bowl of soup, salad, sandwich and a slice of cake.

While waiting for our orders, we were given a bowl of breadstix to munch on.

We were served our soup choices then our salads. Halfway through our salads, we already felt full. When our sandwiches were on our table, I just wanted the waiter to just wrap it so that I can take it home. haha.
Their soup is so creamy. Anne and I had crab and corn soup and too bad I got to eat a few shells. What a birthday treat. Despite that, the soup tasted good.

My Chicken Waldorf salad was a treat too. I just don't dig the walnuts.

And my Porky's nightmare sandwich is the bomb. Anne and Jem only ate half of their sandwiches because they were too full. When we arrived, there was a tiny bit of the cheesecake left. I thought i should just have it reserved for us. But we got distracted because we were talking and laughing like crazy. When it was time for desserts, the mango cheesecake was ... well, gone. So we settled for the Decadence, Black out and Pandan Cake. All three were sent from heaven. But I love the Decadence more for its so moist and jsut heavenly.

Goin Gaga for Froyo

Coffee Cat
IT Park, Lahug

After we had dinner at Simply J's last Saturday, we decided to have our desserts a few hours after at Coffee Cat. Yogurt is healthy. haha

I love their green tea yogurt.

Going Chinese

I love Chinese food. I can go on eating it every day.

Anne Marie, one of my close friends in college, celebrated her 23rd birthday last February 18. But she has been busy with work so she just texted me yesterday if I was not busy because she wanted to treat me to dinner. We decided to meet up with Jem in Ayala.

After walking around The Terraces and checking out some of the restos' menus, we decided to eat at Big Mao. It was not my first time to eat there but it has been a while since the last.

Unfortunately, I already ate dinner. I had 10 pork barbeque and 3 puso (hanging rice) at home. Did I mention it was an impromptu dinner? And a late one at that.

I let Anne and Jem order. As usual, Jem ordered fish and Anne ordered Stir fried noodles. As for our beverages, Anne and I ordered bottomless lemonade and it was Strawberry shake for Jem.

The steamed fish was amazing with its sweet sauce and was topped with browned garlic. And the stir fried noodles was cooked tenderly.

Simply J's: Simply Delicious

My friends and I are on a gastronomic adventure. We vowed to try different restaurants in the city. It's just our excuse to catch up, really. We love hanging out with each other and we love eating too.

We've been busy since we graduated that we found ourselves missing each other terribly.

The last time we saw each other was @ Starbucks, Crown after they had dinner at 10 Dove in Sto. Nino Village.

We planned to try Simply J's located at Escario St. across Imagine.

I had no idea that the quaint little cafe was owned by a classmate in college, Jeremy Sy. It's a family business.

We had a table reserved for four. I have been looking at pictures in the internet to have a better idea as to what I was going to expect when I get there.

Truth be told, the place was nice with all the furniture and other knick knacks and they are all for sale, too. It allowed my college buddies and I to catch up and at the same time enjoy their delicious servings of fish, pasta and chicken.

The place is perfect for meeting friends for lunch or dinner or even a date with your boyfriend (I wish I have one. Ha-ha) I can imagine myself having lunch their with a few of my friends. It's like LC meeting Whitney or Lo for a quick grab.

About their menu, they have limited choices but their food is simply delicious and affordable. I ordered their Chicken Cordon Bleu and I am satisfied with it. Halfway through my meal, I was full already. I forgot what the rest of my friends ordered but all of them were a treat too. Jem and Tara ordered fish and Gayle had a humongous bowl of pasta. All of those were cooked perfectly.

Their prices range from Php 100-200. So it's really affordable. With their servings, there was no room for dessert.

Jeremy even joined us for awhile, reminiscing and laughing and taking pictures.

I know, I know. I need to pay attention to my friends' orders to make a better blog. ha-ha

You brighten my day

This is the first of many food blogs that I will be making.

I love to eat. I love trying out new foods and old recipes with twists on it.

And I want to start with something that I truly love.

CUPCAKES.

I've been sick for a few days now.

There's nothing I want to do but to just sleep and sleep and sleep. Blame it on my cold med and pain reliever.

I've been watching reruns of Master Chef. I specifically love their cupcakes episode. Just looking at those cupcakes makes me want to eat one. haha

I've been thinking a lot about them and I thought when I get better, I'd buy myself at least a couple of them.

I'm still sick but hey, I got Nanay to buy me some at Cupcake Society near Coco Mall.

Nowadays, cupcakes are getting prettier and its a bit costly, for a cupcake. :-)

I bought a Red Velvet Cupcake and a Blueberry cupcake. I must say I'm a bit disappointed. It doesn't taste as good as it looks (Red Velvet).

It didn't reach my expectation. But one so-so cupcake won't stop me from my quest of finding that truly delicious cupcake. There are a lot of shops that offer pretty cupcakes and I intend to search and taste them all.

I am such a sucker for cupcakes. My new reason for living. haha <3

This is the Blueberry Cupcake. I love how it tastes. It's soft to eat and the sweetness is just right.

Red Velvet Cupcake. The cake is a bit hard for me and I'm not used to how it tastes. But I like how red it was inside out. But that's about it. Nothing special about it.
